Finish Kit for Iron from Sculpt Nouveau

From start to finish, everything you will need to experiment on iron, steel, or aluminum. This kit includes eight-ounce containers of Metal Cleaner, Permalac Lacquer (with corrosion inhibitor for Iron & Steel added), and Sculpt Nouveau's Water Base Sealer. Four-ounce size containers of Primer, Metal Coatings, Patinas, Birchwood Casey products, and Dye Oxides, as well as an eight ounce container of the new Metal coating C. Patina Kit from Sculpt Nouveau

Just the patinas. A sample of all the Patinas and Dye-Oxide colors Sculpt Nouveau has to offer in four ounce containers. Plus metal cleaner, Permalac Lacquer, Sculpt Nouveau's Sealer, and the New Sculpt Nouveau Wax. Instructions are included.

Universal Patina Solutions

Universal Patina solutions come in a wide range of colors. They do not contain acids; they are UV safe, indoor or outdoor oxides. These patinas may be applied hot or cold to any metal including Iron and Steel. The Universal Patinas bind on to the metal surface, they do not react. The color of these patinas will remain the same; they will not change as with an acid patina. The metal surface needs to be clean before application. These patinas may be used together with other patinas and dye oxides.

Traditional Transparent Brown, Blue, Green, and White Patinas

Traditional patinas contain acids that will form beautiful patinas on bronze, brass, copper, and the Metal Coatings. If applied to iron or steel, rust will form. Many of these are old formulas - or variations of old formulas available in our books and videos; we have just pre-mixed them for you. All contain acids. All of these patinas are specifically for nonferrous metals except for the Japanese Brown which has been created for use on iron, steel, and aluminum.

Vista Series Patina Solutions

Vista patinas are a two part patina combined in one solution. The base patina is a blend of chemicals that produce a beautiful green on bronze, brass, and copper, or an exquisite rust on iron & steel. Added to this base solution are different colored oxides which will blend with the first reaction to form a marbled patina. For example, using the vista black on bronze would produce a green and black patina and a rust and black patina on iron.

All are packaged in a concentrated form - dilute up to 50% with distilled water.

Patina Stain - Pre-Blended Solvent Dyes and Permalac - Ready to apply

Spray, rag or brush on any metal, when finish over-spray with clear Permalac. The Patina Stains are blended to match chemical or traditional patinas without the fuss. One gallon covers approximately 300 sq/ft

Solvent Base Dye Colors

Use the solvent dyes directly on any metal or material, including glass. They may be used to duplicate a patina or apply over a patina to alter or enhance the color. The dyes will tint resins, epoxies, lacquers, and waxes. For indoor or outdoor use on all metals and metal coatings.

Water Base Dye - Oxide Patina Colors

The Dye Oxide patinas do not contain acids; they are UV safe, indoor, or outdoor oxides. These patinas may be applied hot or cold to any metal including iron, steel, and aluminum without causing rust. They are best applied hot; they do not react with the metal. The color of these patinas will remain the same; they will not change as with an acid patina. The metal surface needs to be clean before application. The Dye Oxide patinas are more transparent than the Universal patinas.

Metallic Pigments

Provides a faux metal finish when combined with Forton MG or polyurethane resins. Will not take patinas. Available in Rich Pale Gold, Brilliant Copper, Antique Brass, Statuary Bronze, Brilliant Aluminum, Silverstone, and Antique Silver.

Verdigris Green Patina Chemicals Mixture of cupric chloride (100 g), ammonium chloride (25 g), and water creates an aged greenish/blue look when applied to copper or bronze. The solution is to be applied cold. According to the ratio of chemicals, solution can be made to look more blue or green. Makes a 32 ounce solution.

Water Base Clear Sealer with UV and Corrosive Inhibitors

Use as a protective coating for ALL Metals, or the metal coatings. Not glossy, great over patinas. Incredibly strong, thins with distilled water.

Finishing Wax

We have combined the finest waxes available; microcrystalline, carnauba, and clear bee's wax - then added UV and corrosive inhibitors as well as hardeners. One type of was is for Bronze, Brass, and Copper and another just for Iron and Steel. The wax dries with a hard and beautiful finish. Use alone or over another clear sealer. This wax may also be tinted with the Solvent Dyes. Although this wax was designed for metal, it will work well on other materials like stone, wood, or resins.
